Dr. Amirlak is a double board certified plastic surgeon and a full time faculty at the world renowned UTSW department of plastic surgery who is seeing patients at our office in McKinney, Texas . Our unique relationship with him has complemented our cosmetic services by providing an on-site highly qualified plastic surgeon.
All the facial injections are performed by the our plastic surgeon in our office in a friendly environment using the latest equipment and superior technology to help guarantee safety. Some of the procedures available include BOTOX ®, Dysport ®, and dermal fillers (e.g.JUVÉDERM® XC, Restylane®). Consultation with Dr Amirlak regarding other more invasive procedures can also be done at our office which can be performed at a later date at his state of the art surgical center.
Dr. Amirlak's patients can expect a solid academic foundation with an elite educational pedigree. He started his surgical training by completing a five year residency in general surgery at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. His residency included a year as a Chief Surgical Resident. During his surgical training he was part of a team to organize humanitarian surgical mission trips to Latin American countries. He then moved to Louisville to complete a one year fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery (including peripheral nerve surgery), at the world renowned Kleinert’s Institute. During that year, he was honored to be part of the surgical team performing the only hand transplants in the country at the time. He then completed a 3 year plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio. His mentors have included some of the world leaders of Plastic Surgery such as Warren Breidenbach and Arun Gosain. He is double board certified in Plastic surgery and General surgery.
In 2010 Dr. Amirlak was invited to Dallas as an Assistant Professor at the renowned UT Southwestern (UTSW) Department of Plastic Surgery. The department is the largest academic plastic surgery department in the United States and is the most respected worldwide.
Dr. Amirlak’s research has been presented at several societies of surgical subspecialties throughout the world, and has been published in peer reviewed journals such as Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Clinics in Plastic Surgery, The World Journal of Hernia and many others. He has published chapters in leading surgical books, and received multiple awards for research and academic achievements , such as Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgery Award, Rhinoplasty Society Award , American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award, and the 2007 Frachaud Award . Dr. Amirlak is regularly invited to give national and international lectures to plastic surgeons and physicians of other specialties. A sample list of some of his lectures is included. He has been recognized in national media such as: NPR, Daily Mail and ABC News.
Dr. Amirlak was also trained by Dr. Bahman Guyuron, the pioneer of migraine surgery and one of the world’s most renowned surgeons in the area of rhinoplasty and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Amirlak approaches his patients with an uncompromising quality committed towards artistic and scientific excellence and harmony. His particular interests in aesthetic surgery include Cosmetic Facial Surgery and Rhinoplasty and his unique training permits him to have a desired expertise in the latest techniques in all fields of Cosmetic Surgery.
At UTSW, Dr. Amirlak's practice encompasses both Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (eg. Breast Reconstruction). His aesthetic surgical interest focuses on surgical Facial Rejuvenation (Facelift/Necklift), Rhinoplasty, Genioplasty, and Breast Augmentation and lift and Body contouring. Achieving a superior result, one that is natural, subtle, and tailored to the concerns of a patient is the primary goal. Dr Amirlak has been involved with education and teaching of other plastic surgeon from across the country and world as well as residents and medical students at UTSW. He is a faculty member of the renowned annual Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium as well as the director of the Cadaver Lab at the annual Dallas Cosmetic Symposium where thousands of plastic surgeons attend yearly to be trained in the art of advanced cosmetic surgery. He is also the director of the Residency Cosmetic Clinic at UTSW plastic surgery as well as director of the Hand and Peripheral Nerve Services at the VA North Dallas. During his time at UTSW has fortunate to travel and participate in the surgical care of patients in several underserved countries.
Dr. Amirlak's private patients are operated upon mainly at the private state-of- the art facility at the Outpatient Surgical Center (UTSW) and at Zale University Hospital. He does see patients in his private office in Dallas as well as Mckinney. At the North Dallas Mckinney office he offers consultations as well as various facial injectables and minor procedures
